Li, Dou is a research professor in School of Electronics, Peking University. She received B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees from Peking University, China in 1989, 1992 and 2007 respectively. She is currently a research professor of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology, PKU. Her research interests include data signal processing, wireless communication techniques andinformation theory.

Prof. Li has participated many projects including the National Science and Technology Major Project, the National High Technology Research and Development Program andthe NSFC Project. She has published dozens of research papers in the field of satellite communication, mobile communication, signal processing and its application. She obtained the Education and Teaching Achievement Award of Beijing in 2004, and the Science and Technology Innovation Award of State Administrations of Press, Publication, Radio, film and Television in 2011.

Her research achievements are summarized as follows:

1) Grid monitoring of wireless signal: Utilize the Empirical Mode Decomposition of the Hilbert-Huang Transform and Wavelet Transform as effective analytical methods for grid monitoring signals. Establish precise mathematical models according to the regular development patterns of wireless signals. Design anindependent component analysis(ICA)basedmethodfor improving the effect of grid radio monitoring, in which suddenemergenceof abnormal signal sources can be detected.

2) Data Trafficanalyzing, modelling and predicting: Analyzethe possible causes of self-similar network traffic and itsinfluenceon the network performance. Propose a real-time predicting method of self-similar network traffic by adopting a chaoticpredictive method based on Lyapunov exponential. Put forward a novel index of assessing the performance of the prediction, which can reflect the real-time predictive performance more objectively.

3) Resource Management of wireless communication system: The increasing data packets services that coming with the ever-growing demand of the mobile internet applications lead to the dramatic increase of system resource load and signaling. For solving the problem, a new optimal scheduling strategy based on the performance of the power control is proposed. The performance of the new strategy on different traffic modules (such as P2P, HTTP etc.) is demonstrated.
